Our environment-safe agro-biotech work takes place in the context of one prime focus: Organic Product Innovation. And we apply that focus to our two-pronged aspiration for the Indian farmer by eliminating agro-chemicals and sustaining an organic farming revolution. The focus on bio-control agents is rooted in the Jay Biotech work culture. It prevents a division between the coolest eco-friendly agro-biotech alternatives, and well, the green organic stuff. It can be one and the same – after all, organic farming traces its roots quite literally to green alternatives.
Our definition of products is expansive: It includes probiotics, biofertilizers, biopesticides, biocontrol agents, sea weed liquid fertilizers, organic manures, plant growth stimulants, bio-organic fungicides and insecticides, and repellents. Selecting goals based in the environment sciences shortens the arguments. If we move in the direction of eliminating agriculture waste and eliminating chemical pesticides, we are moving towards our objective of attaining organic farming sustainability. The simplicity of these seemingly easy goals masks their depth: Virtually all of our agro-biotech work can be considered in the light of these two goals.
When viewed in a nutshell, our goals take on distinct bio-tags in our vision of achieving Integrated Crop Management: Biointensive integrated pest, disease and nutrient management (BIPDNM); biological/agriculture waste management; micro-propagation, and promoting organic farming. What’s more is we’ve drawn up a strategy and business plan to help us understand where we have the greatest impacts, and consequently where our priorities lie. It shows our agro-biotech initiatives, and matches them with the appropriate stage in the green, chemical-free agriculture life cycle.
We’re beginning to explore ways to offer a package of complete solutions for individual crops. But competing with chemical pesticides in this mission is no easy task. While environmental benefits give the much-needed silver lining to the conventional farming cloud, so to speak, it’s the combined challenge of being cost-effective and disease-free that drives our mission. It makes our efforts even more worthwhile. After all, nothing would give us more contentment than watching the fruits of our labour deliver the desired results: Organic product innovations for a healthier, greener tomorrow.
